First off, we want to thank Adena and her beautiful family for booking with us! We almost had to cancel this shoot because of the weather, but we're so grateful we decided to power through. When we first arrived, it was cold, windy, and even started drizzling at one point. I remember sitting in the parking lot, looking at Savannah, and saying, "This isn’t looking good..."
Thankfully, Adena, her husband, and their two boys arrived with great spirits and were willing to make it work. Despite the wind (and the chill!), we kept snapping. It got so cold that we decided to move indoors to the nearby ferry terminal to see what we could create there. Just as we started shooting inside, the sun finally broke through the clouds, so we headed back outdoors. This was absolutely the right move, and we were able to capture exactly what we’d hoped for in that beautiful, unexpected sunlight.
